Choosing the right saddle?

Question: I am having a lot of trouble deciding what type of saddle to get. I enjoy trail riding and want to start doing some jumping, but nothing really serious enough to need a jumping saddle. I like the security of the stock saddle (but don't like western) but I also like the position of all purpose and dressage saddles. Can you jump at all in a dressage saddle? I have seen a few with nice deep seats that would be quite secure but I'm not sure how versatile they would be. I've also looked at some of the stock fender and half-breed styles that are quite comfy too. So what do you think? What do you ride in? How comfortable/ secure and versatile is it?

Answer: I'm not sure about jumping in a dressage saddle, never seen it done before. If your looking for something with a deep seat and comfortable I would try out a wintec 2000 saddle. I have one and it has a deep seat, is comfortable and I feel safe in it for jumping. Its an all purpose saddle and you can change out the gullet to fit several horses. They run new for about $500 and I got mine used for $250
