Carl Zeiss 1.7 50 lenses???

Question: ok, so i'm thinking of buying a new camera and i've heard that a lot of the Canon cameras are compatible with Carl Zeiss lenses. so my question is, which cameras are compatible with the Carl Zeiss 1.7f 50 lenses? do the Canon PowerShot S5 IS and the Canon PowerShot S3 IS work with them? i've been eyeballing them for a while now... well, my budget goes up to $500 (yea i'm a cheapo) so thanks for helping me out!!!

Answer: First, Carl Zeiss SLR lenses are not made with a Canon mount, they require an adaptor. Currently, Zeiss make SLR lenses with an F mount (Nikon, but also used by Fuji and some Kodak models) K mount (Pentax and others) and M42 screw thread. If you purchase the right adaptor, one of the three mounts can be fitted to almost any SLR/DSLR body. The cameras you list are not DSLR. Their lenses are fixed, and cannot be replaced by another lens. Even if you choose something else, $500 will not get you into the market for a new Zeiss lens. The are three to six times that. You might find something secondhand.
